Founded in 2003, Boston Teacher Residency (BTR) recruits a diverse set of talented college graduates, career changers, and community members of all ages and gives them tools to make an immediate impact in BPS classrooms. BTR combines a year-long classroom apprenticeship with master's level coursework designed with Boston's students and curriculum in mind. Graduates commit to teach for at least three years in Boston schools, and BTR supports them over that time as they hone their teaching practice. BTR is run by Boston Plan for Excellence and is proud to be an AmeriCorps service program.
